Was 8-0 in his last eight starts and went undefeated in ASC play. Threw a complete-game four-hitter in the ASC tournament against Mississippi College. Was first-team All-ASC and second-team All-West Region. 2005: Led the team and was second in the conference with a 1.48 ERA with 12 appearances and a 4-2 record for the Cowboys as a true freshman. Ranked 12th nationally in ERA. Had three complete games and led the team with 52 strikeouts, which was eighth best in the ASC. Had a complete game win with only one earned run and eight strikeouts against Southwestern on March 9th. Had another seven inning performance with six strikeouts and no earned runs against Schreiner on April 8th. Ended the season with two consecutive nine-inning complete games against UT-Dallas and East Texas Baptist in which he recorded his first shut out as a Cowboy. Ranked first in the conference in opposing batting average with a .172. Also ranked first in the conference with only 39 hits allowed. Led the team with 60.2 innings pitched.
