Josh was a workhorse for the Cowboys in 2007 out of the bullpen and will look to continue his role as a relief ace this season. 2007: Started four games and made 19 appearances, picking up a 3-3 record, six saves and a 3.74 ERA. Finished the season with 33.2 innings pitched with 27 strikeouts and only eight walks. Voted first-team All-ASC for the second year and won ASC Sportsmanship award. 2006: Recorded a 2.13 ERA and allowed only three runs in his last 26 innings of work. Earned a win over McMurry with six and one-third innings of work out of the bullpen, where he allowed just two hits. Named first-team All-ASC as a reliever. Transferred to HSU after spending two years at McLennan Community College under Head Coach Pete Mejia. Played high school ball at Brownwood High. Personal: Son of Diane Tinkler and Bill Alcorn. Has a brother, Jeremy who plays golf at Baylor. Social Studies major. Born September 4, 1984.
