Cowgirls To Be Featured On NCAA Show

ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s soccer team will be featured as part of the 2010 NCAA Fall Sport Championship Show that will air on local CBS affiliates at noon CST on Saturday.

The show, which is part of CBS’ NCAA rights package, will provide television exposure to the fall sport champions for the ninth straight year. There will be 11 sports featured in the fall show – Division I, II and III men’s and women’s cross country, Division I, II and III field hockey,  men’s water polo, Division III men’s and women’s soccer and Division II and III volleyball.

CBS produces these shows to recognize the teams that pursued and ultimately won their sports’ top honor. It will be the 25th show since CBS began airing them in the fall, winter and spring over the last eight years.

There is no set time when the Cowgirls’ segment will air. The show will run from noon to 1 p.m.

Hardin-Simmons won the NCAA Division III women’s soccer title on Dec. 4 with a 2-1 win over Messiah. It was HSU’s first Division III NCAA team title.
