Wade Green, MEd, LAT, ATC
Director of Athletic Training Services | Athletic Healthcare Administrator
Wade Green is in his 10th year at Hardin-Simmons University and his fourth year as Director of Athletic Training Services. He also serves at HSU’s Athletic Healthcare Administrator. He currently oversees athletic medical care provided to all Hardin-Simmons University student-athletes and supervises five additional athletic trainers. Green currently oversees medical care provided for football in addition to coordinating all administrative aspects of HSU Sports Medicine including insurance, drug testing, and other areas. He has previously served as Assistant Athletic Trainer and Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer and has provided care directly to the majority of the student-athlete population at HSU during that time. He is credentialed to practice athletic training nationally through the Board of Certification, Inc. and additionally through the Texas State Department of Health since 2008.
Green earned his bachelor's of arts degree in kinesiology with an athletic training emphasis from Southwestern University in 2007 and a master’s of education Degree in counseling and human development from Hardin-Simmons University in 2010. He is a clinical preceptor within HSU’s CAATE Accredited athletic training program and has previously taught courses within the athletic training program. He is also currently pursuing a clinical doctorate in athletic training through A.T. Still University, an osteopathic medical school in Arizona.
Green is currently active in both the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association (SWATA). He has served as chair of the Free Communications and Research Committee for SWATA. He is an avid clinical researcher and has presented at both regional and national conferences. Green and his wife Whitney were married in December of 2013. He is a native of Houston, Texas.
