Mission and Philosophy Statement
The mission of Hardin-Simmons University Sports Medicine Services
Division is to be an extension of the University Mission to
provide, “An Education, Enlightened by Faith.” The
Division of Sports Medicine Services is dedicated to providing
quality sports medicine care to the student-athletes of
Hardin-Simmons University.
Our mission is enhanced by offering superior injury evaluation,
treatment, rehabilitation, and education of sports medicine
conditions to the student-athlete, athletic training students,
parents and coaching staff. In addition to providing quality sports
medicine care, the Division of Sports Medicine Services also
provides excellent clinical-based educational experiences for the
athletic training students of the HSU Athletic Training Education
Program (ATEP).
Our fundamental goals, as a component of the ATEP, is to equip and
empower young men and women to become competent Licensed and
Certified Athletic Trainers who have a strong practice of
professionalism, integrity, and are dedicated to the holistic care
of their patients. The Sports Medicine Service staff strives to
offer effective mentorships and discipleships to the athletic
training students, and to provide students ample opportunities to
grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.
