HSU Earns Four ASC Honors

ABILENE, Texas – Hardin-Simmons' athletics had a successful weekend and four student-athletes have been tabbed for weekly honors by the American Southwest Conference.

Sydney Tencate won her fourth ASC cross country runner of the week honor after she won her fourth race of the season on Saturday.

Freshman goalkeeper Trent Ivy worked a pair of shutouts in goal and was named the ASC defensive player of the week for men's soccer.

Senior defender Kirsten Parrish led the Cowgirls to a pair of wins and scored a goal and had an assist to earn ASC defensive player of the week for women's soccer.

Reese Childress won ASC special teams player of the week honors after returning a punt 90 yards for a touchdown against Sul Ross State and he also averaged 43.3 yards on four punts.

In all, the volleyball team went 2-1 at the ASC Crossover, women's soccer won both games, men's soccer went 1-0-1 on the road, football won at Sul Ross State and the men's cross country team finished second at the University of Dallas.
